Leather fantasy of Olga Cherkasova

She was born in Kazan. After finishing the chemical faculty of Kazan State University with distinction. She worked in Kazan Chemical-Technological Institute as a doctor of Chemistry. O.Cherkasova published 100 scientific articles by chemistry. She is married, has two adult sons and a dog cocker - Diana.
Since 1992 she has worked in a genre of leather plastic arts. Many her works are in private collections in Germany, USA, Canada, France, England, Japan, Poland, Italy and Israel.
The subjects of her works are flower ornaments, still lifes, the scenes taken from life, town and country landscapes, fairy and ornamental-decorative plots.
The technique of making her works is unusual: bulging expression of pictures is reached by using leather plastic art. Besides, there are the collage-method, which contains the using of cloth, stones, fur, shells and so on.

In 1996 there was the first exhibition her pictures and jewelry in the hall of the University, named of "Na antresoljach". At the present (September - November 1998) the second personal display takes place there. By the invitation of State Tatarstan Museum since December 1998 this collection will be disposed in its halls.
