The jewellery is a national pride of Tatars. This ancient kind of a folk creativity was tied, mainly, with a traditional dress, especially with a women's one. Millenniums after, the technology of jewelry production became more complex, and more skilled - their design, but the basic methods of a hand processing in jewellery kept the same.
Nowadays the young jewellers work in Tatarstan who try to join the richest art traditions (open-work and grain filigree, granular work, engraving, etc.) with the modern jeweller' technologies, that are born by the new norms of life and the art norms. One of such jewellers - the Members of Tatarstan Union of Artists: Tatiana Solovieva and Irina Vasilieva. Their works are represented here.
