Galiasgar Kamal Tatar State Academic Theatre
The 22nd December of 1906, when the first public performance in Tatar was acted in Kazan,
is considering as the birthday of this Theatre.
The history keeps carefully the names of the founders of Tatar professional theatre, the first dramatists and actors:
I.Kudashev-Ashkazarskiy, G.Kariyev, S.Gizzatullina-Volzhskaya, G.Bolgarskaya, M.Mutin, Sh.Shamilskiy, F.Ilskaya, N.Tazhdarova, A.Sinyaeva, Z.Sultanova, G.Kamal, K.Tinchurin, M.Fayzi, K.Shamil.
Title "the Academic" was confered on the Theatre in 1926; the name of Galiasgar Kamal - in 1939.
The new building of the Theatre was built in 1986 according to the project of architects G.Gorlyshkov and Yu.Korneyev.
Kamal Tatar State Academic Theatre is the national fortune of Tatar people. The famous actors: Sh.Biktemirov, A.Gaynullina, R.Sharafeyev, N.Ikhsanova, R.Tazetdinov, R.Motygullina, dramatist T.Minullin and many others work in its collective.
Since 1966 M.Salimzhanov is the art-leader of the Theatre.
