State regulation of Tatarstan financial-credit system activities is carried out in compliance with the legislation of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Russian Federation, decrees, issued by the President of Tatarstan, regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan. Russian tax legislation is in force on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Control and regulation functions are performed by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tatarstan, Tax Inspection of the Republic of Tatarstan and the National Bank. The Republic Audit Chamber was set up under the authority of the State Committee on Property Administration all in all more than 10 audit agencies perform their activities in Tatarstan.

Financial and credit system in the Republic of Tatarstan is closely connected with the financial and credit system of the Russian Federation, being independent in the matters of financial policy, the regulation of money circulation, mobilisation and the use of credit resources, legal regulation of the activities of the financial-credit institutions.
The financial-credit system includes banks, insurance companies, financial funds and other institutions.
