Organisational Support of Foreign Economic Activity

In 1992, the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations was established to ensure development and implementation of the state foreign economic policy of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as its co­ordination and regulation in accordance with the decisions of the supreme state power and administration bodies of the Republic of Tatarstan.

With the aim to assist President of the Republic of Tatarstan in exercising single foreign policy of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Department of External Relations under Tatarstan President is established by the presidential Decree in 1995.

The task of expanding and developing the bilateral trading, economic, scientific, technical, cultural and humanitarian relations has necessitated the creation of the representative offices of the Republic abroad.

As of now, 14 representative offices are functioning in foreign countries and regions of the Russian Federation, including these in the USA, France, Austria, Australian Union, Czech Republic, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Lithuania, Republic of Moldova, Republic of Crimea, cities of Moscow, St. Petersbourg, Ekaterinburg.

The tasks of promoting foreign economic activity in the Republic of Tatarstan are implemented by a number of specialised commercial and public organisations, such as the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan, the All­Nation Centre of Investment Promotion, the Agency on International Cooperation Development under the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations of the Republic of Tatarstan, AO SUVAR, Tatarstan Trading House and others.
