The partners in establishing joint ventures are represented by firms from over 40 countries of the world, including the USA, Germany, Austria, Great Britain, Canada, Turkey, etc.

The majority of joint ventures is located in the cities of Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Almetyevsk and Nizhnekamsk.

In the 1st half of 1996, the foreign trade turnover of the joint ventures totalled USD 31.3 mln, while Rbl 406.8 bln worth goods and services were sold in the domestic markets.

With the aim to improve the procedure of registering commercial organisations with foreign investments to be set up in the territory of the Republic, the Republican Office of the State Registration Chamber under the Ministry of Economy of the Russian Federation was established in Tatarstan on the basis of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations of the Republic of Tatarstan.
