GEPARD (project 11661)
The Gepard frigate has been designed to perform the
following missions: to patrol the exclusive economic zone (EEZ)
and to fight enemy surface ships, submarines and airctaft.
To accomplish these missions, the ship has been outfitted
with the following armament:
- Anti-ship missile system consisting of:
- two quadruple launchers
- fire control system
- target designation radar
- Air defence system consisting of:
- bow air defence group comprised of a 76.2mm artillery
system, a 30mm CIWS, and a target designation and
control radar.
- stern air defence group comprised of a SAM system, a 30
mm CIWS, and a target designation and control radar.
- Anti-submarine weapon system consisting of:
- sonor system
- 12 barrel depth-charge rocket launcher
- 2 twin tubes for 533mm torpedoes
- anti-submarine weapons control system
The various armaments are integratedin a weapon control
system which provides a complete overview of the threat.
Further, the Gepard is provided with surface radar and modern
navigational equipment.
