Transhipment center of technologies and cargo
"Logistics Center of Kazan"
Because of permanent economic progress of Povolzhye, the
Urals and Siberia together with increasing overwork of railway
and water lines it is necessary to find reliable alternatives of
stable transport communication and transhipment warehouses.
After investigation (with participation of foreign companies) of
the work of European ports (Hamburg, Duisburg) it has been
concluded that set-up of a transhipment center of technoligies
and cargo in Povolzhye region is quite necessary. The most
expedient and perspective place for this is construction at the
neighbourhood of Kazan, on the bank of the Volga river. The
logistics center will serve regions with total population of
about 80 million people. The construction project is included
into European Community Technical Assistance Programme. The
construction is to be performed by state and private companies.
