Tatarstan's territory is crossed by the biggest European river route - the Volga river. Together with the Kama river they form united deep-water traffic system in European part of CIS. Navigation is provided by 4 river ports and more than 70 wharves. Navigable water ways along the Volga, Kama, Belaya and Vyatka rivers extend for about 1000 km.
