Tatar Diaspora
outside the Republic of Tatarstan

It happened so historically that Tatars can be found in different regions of the former Soviet Union and in many countries of the world. According to the All-Union census data 6,648,760 Tatars live on the territory of the former Soviet Union, among them 1,765,404 million Tatars live on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan; Tatars are the second biggest ethnic group in the Russian Federation.
