The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) assists President of
Tatarstan to coordinate and present general foreign policy of the Republic
of Tatarstan, to implement its state sovereignty in the sphere of
international relations.
The Department of Foreign Affairs to President of Tatarstan is the lead
Tatarstan foreign affairs agency. It advances Tatarstan objective and
interests through representing and implementing the President's foreign
policy. The Director of Foreign Affairs Department is the
President's principal adviser on foreign policy and one of the person chiefly
responsible for representation abroad.
The activity of DFA is based on the
Constitution of the Russian Federation, Constitution of the Republic of Tatarstan
and power-sharing Treaty between Tatarstan and Russia.
