International Conference on Modelling and Simulation (MS´2000)
took place at Las Palmas G.C. on September 25-27, 2000. The Conference was
jointly organized by International Association for Modelling and Simulation
Techniques in Enterprises (AMSE), by University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
(ULPGC) and by University of La Laguna (ULL). The Conference was sponsored by
Cabildo de Gran Canaria, City Council
of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, University of Las Palmas G.C., University of La
Laguna, Departament of Mathematics (ULPGC), Departament of EIO and Computation
(ULL), La Caja de Canarias, UNELCO, Official College of Industrial Engineers of
Canary Islands and Publications Service and Documental Production of the ULPGC.
There were more than 150 participants.
The
conference topics and technical programmes were designed to attract
researchers, educators and potencial users who have worked in the field of
Modelling and Simulation. The conference offered an opportunity to share their
recent findings on techniques and applications of innovative methodologies to
prototype problems. Researchers presented their experiencies and discussed
problems needing research, both in formal and informal setting. Educators could
participate in discussions on several issues related to the area in order to
share current efforts on linking education practices and research.
The
Conference MS´2000 was an appreciable event not only for Spanish Science
but World Science too. Thirty one different countries participated in the
Conference. Many well known Scientists took place at the Conference and
presented their papers. Among well known surnames we saw V. Krasnoproshin (Belarus), F.M. Hernandez
(Spain), F.C. Morabito (Italy), F.J. Elorza (Spain), L. K. Kuzmina (Russia), C.
Berger-Vachon (France), B. Ballaz (France), R. Montenegro (Spain), J. Gil Aluja
( Spain), M. Zaki (Egypt), A. Vanti (Brasil), P. Mandrik (Belarus), P. Saavedra
(Spain), B. Birouk (Algeria), G. El-Sharawy (Egypt), G. Montero (Spain), W.
Swelam (Egypt), A. Santana (Spain), A. Falcon (Spain), A. Zayegh (Australia) and many others.
The
Conference provided a forum to the Scientists and Engineers, working in the
theorical and applications aspects of computer modelling, simulation and
communication area, to exchange their researchs and findings with fellow
researchers.
