Mechanical Engineering Institute of ras (IMASH RAS) carries out the permanently acting Seminar on the problems of a new scientific field – “Dynamics procsses of the systems man-machine-environment”. The peculiarity of these problems is in their place on border of traditional  scientific areas and the most interesting and significant results are obtained at the crossing point of mechanics and physics with biology and medicine. Within the Seminar, arranged in 1975 as the Seminar of Biomechanical Department of IMASH RAS, new results are discussed, new scientific areas with their approaches and scientific language are formed, new scientific tasks are set. The themes of the Seminar, being traditional to a certain extendt, also include new trends:

·          Mechanics and machine control systems.

·          The theory of mechanisms and machins.

·          Strenght, safety and hardiness of machins.

·          Friction, wear, lubrication.

·          Biomechanics of the systems man-machine-environment.

·          Vibroacoustics of machines.

·          Reliability and resource of machines and constructions.

·          Optimization of machines and constructions.

·          Nanotechnologies for mechanical engineering.

The Head of the Seminar – Konstantin Vassilievich Frolov, Academician of Russian Academy of Sciences; Seminar Science secretary – Natalya Vassilievna Pankova, Candidate of physical and mathematical sciences.

The survey of several reports, presented in 2001-2002, is given in this issue.

 

All the scientists, who would like to present their results at the Seminar, are welcomed in Mechanical Engineering Institute of RAS.
