The International Conferences in engineering and
technology education in Brazil were promoting a wide discussion on Engineering
and Technology in the present time and its perspectives for the future. The
changes are fast and the information is globally available it becomes necessary
to discuss and to bring solutions mainly about the problems related with
Education. To form the professional of the future is more than to promote the
citizenship, it is also to contribute for the constant scientific and
technological development in the search of a better world for the coming
generations. In
many aspects this success is supported by a series of recent conferences
intended to increase the role of national engineering education and to attract
the recognized international organizations and institutions for mutually
benefit cooperation.
These forums were an excellent public's participation of engineering and
technology areas. Universities, researchers and institutes of researches, world
specialists of the areas, politicians engaged with the scientific and
technological development of the countries, they are all gathered in these five
events to discuss and to evaluate the last acquisitions of science and technology
and its incidence in professional's formation as well as the last trends of
Engineering and Technology Education in the world. Besides its social and
cultural meetings with speakers from several countries allowed to the
participants have a vision of the kaleidoscope that such current and
interesting theme provides. In these events was going all to add efforts to
give various contributions for the directions of the researches in this field
having in mind the improvement of the society as a whole.
The
International Conferences in engineering and technology education in Brazil was

Its active participation in the work of various
conferences and societies all over the world has considerably enhanced old
educational traditions and formed a new generation of young engineers capable
to resolve many acute problems of Brazil's national economy in the most
efficient way. The educational policy of Brazilian government has played a
decisive part in all these enterprises. The stability of the steady gradual
rise of engineering education quality in Brazil is in many aspects caused by
organizing regular interna-tional conferences where all vital and important
problems of engineering education are being discussed in utmost open and lively
atmosphere. Theoretical and practical issues are considered in sessions and
workshops intended to give an immediate vocational training to young Brazilian
educators participating in the event. In their turn, the young professors are
eager for applying their newly acquired educative ideas and innovative
initiatives to their local universities; and the regular conferences with a
participation of recognized educators from foreign and national technical
universities give a good basis for that.
The Council
of Researches in Education and Sciences is constituted by scientists of the
several areas of human knowledge and citizens committed with education.
Citizens
and scientists who believe that education is the main beam in the construction
of a better society and that also believe in research and in the development of
sciences and technology as the big agents in the fostering of progress and the
welfare of human being.
It
is a council, which works have the goal to enhance and to maintain relations
between universities, institutions of education, enterprises and the society of
the several countries for the discussion of education, technology and sciences
directions.
The
history of COPEC has started with an idea shared by some professionals of
sciences and technology. It was the idea of creating a non-governmental
organization to foster the research mainly in education and sciences. This idea
seized proportions and after some meetings the Council became reality.
Although
very young this Council through its very active members has already a history
of participations in scientific events in education and technology, also
sponsoring conferences and developing projects since 1994, with the goal of
enhancing discussions about education, technology and science congregating
specialists of the five continents. It is a group of scientists, professors and
professionals whose vision of future has driven them to start this work.
COPEC
is an organization that works visioning the future. It works to stimulate and
to foster the efforts to bring an international perspective in education. It
aims to establish and maintain the interchange among institutions, educators of
educational institutions in Brazil and in the several countries worldwide. It
is a council that seeks the improvement of communication and the interchange of
researches in education field and sciences between the countries. It also aims
the development of an apprenticeship community and the development of education
and sciences areas constituting in an intelligent way of collective knowledge
for the integration with social and economic agents of community.
The
council plans to accomplish its goals by means of:

Currents Conferences;

Planning segmented and united actions among
schools for the development of projects of internal and external community
interests;

Interchange programs; Projects e researches of
supporting;
-
To work for the creation of conditions and the
means for updating, development and the permanent re-qualification of
professionals of the several areas of human knowledge;
-
And other means appointed by the Council or by
an authorized organ.
In many ways it can be said
that the gradual rise of engineering education quality in Brazil is caused by
the organization of regular international conferences where all vital and
important problems of engineering education are being discussed in utmost open
and lively atmosphere. Theoretical and practical issues are considered in
sessions and workshops intended to give an immediate vocational training to
young Brazilian educators participating in the event. In their turn, the young
