This issue of the International scientific journal "Problems of Nonlinear Analysis in Engineering Systems" (No.2(32), vol.15, 2009) contains two special Sections. The first one highlights results of the International European Conference on Operational Research (EURO-XXIII, Bonn, 2009) with a brief Introduction by Professor P.Kunsch (Belgium), the invited Editor of this Section, with presentation of the articles, prepared on papers materials, issued at invited Session "Methodologies in complex systems". This Session was organized in framework of Stream "Modelling of systems dynamics in Sustainable Development". The part of these articles is published here:

A.M.Mukhamedov. Towards a deterministic quantum chaos.

Pin-Cheng Chen, Tsu-Tian Lee, Chi-Hsu Wang, Ping-Zong Lin. Adaptive control of nonlinear systems using Hopfield-based dynamic neural network.

The second special Section deals with results of the 9th Crimean International Mathematical School "Lyapunov functions methods and its applications" (LFM-2008, Alushta). The invited Editor of this Section is Professor O.V.Anashkin (Ukraine). The next School, i.e. the 10th Crimean International Mathematical School "Lyapunov functions methods and its applications" devoted to the memory of S.K.Persidskiy and his 80th Anniversary will be held in 2010. S.K.Persidskiy is a well-known scientist, representative (in third generation) of the National Scientific School of stability theory, founded by N.G.Chetaev, A.M.Lyapunov's successor (well-known Kazan Chetayev's School of stability and mechanics). Here some articles, prepared on papers, presented at the 9th School, are published here (second part of articles will be published in the next issue of the Journal):

V.I.Vanko. The aerodynamical instability of equilibrium states of profiles.

I.K.Marchevskiy. The stability criteria of a heavy bluff airfoil equilibrium.

S.V.Kashirin, G.A.Shcheglov. Pipeline parametric resonance under deformation.

V.S.Sergeev. Instability of solutions of the Volterra type integro-differential equations in certain case.

V.V.Novitsky. Construction of a solution of Lyapunov equation for linear almost conservative systems.

Also the papers on topics "Interdisciplinary problems and nanoscience" are presented here:

N.F.Bunkin, A.V.Shkirin, V.A.Kozlov. Nanobubbles of the dissolved gas in deeply purified water.

I.K.Nasyrov, Yu.N.Osin, D.N.Valeeva, Z.Ya.Khalitov. Analysis of "Taunit" carbon nanomaterial and composite materials on its basis.

It is presented also a survey on results of the scientific Workshop and scientific Conference, organized by Kazan School of mechanicians.

D.A.Gubaidullin. Problems of continuum mechanics (scientific workshop and conference).
