The held conference was dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of G.G.Tumashev's birthday and 110th Anniversary of K.M.Mushtari's birthday.

The distinguished mechanicist and mathematician, the professor of the Kazan State University G.G.Tumashev (1910-1984), is by right considered to be the founder of the Kazan school of the inverse boundary value problems of aerohydromechanics. This field is concerned with the design of wing sections of aircrafts, the research of jet and cavitation streams, the propagation of water-oil interface under the exploitation of oil field, the research of the processes of dimensional electrochemical machining of metals and etc. G.G.Tumashev created the department of aerohydromechanics of Kazan State University, trained a lot of candidates and doctors of physico-mathematical sciences. The G.G.Tumashev`s school is alive and it continues to develop. Nowadays his pupils are at the head of large scientific branches in the area of aerohydromechanics. Among them there is the chairman of program committee of the conference, the director of ITAM, RAS SB, the deputy chairman of RAS SB academician V.M.Fomin.

 

The distinguished scientist-mechanic, professor Kh.M.Mushtari (1900-1981) is the founder of Kazan school of the nonlinear theory of shells. During more than a quarter of a century he was the director of the Kazan Physical-Technical Institute (USSR AS KF). He was also the head of the department in the Kazan University of engineers of municipal architecture, in the Kazan Aviation Institute, in the Kazan Chemical фechnological Institute. Written by Kh.M.Mushtari together with the professor of the Kazan State University K.Z.Galimov monograph "The nonlinear theory of elastic shells " (1957), which was republished abroad, became the reference book of more than one generation of specialists. The equations of Mushtari-Donnell, the formula of Mushtari came in the science. Up to the present days Kazan remains to be one of the centres of nonlinear shells of mechanics development. The large contribution into mechanics of solid deformable body bring pupils and followers of Kh.M.Mushtari, who created their own science schools. The counsellor of presidium of RAS, the chief of the laboratory of IMech (RAS UB), the corresponding member of RAS н.б.Ilgamov, who became the part of program committee of the conference, is among them.

 

The conference was organized by the Kazan (Volga region) Federal University, the Kazan State Technical University named after A.N.Tupolev (National research University), the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics named after S.A.Khristianovich RAS SB, the Institute of Mechanics and Engineering of Kazan Science Centre of RAS, the Research Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics named after N.G.Chebotarev of KFU and the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences.

 

The conference was held in Kazan on the basis of IME of KazSC of RAS and RIMM named after N.G.Chebotarev of KFU with the support of RFBR and MES (in the context of FCP "Cadres"). The young scientists from Kazan, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Izhevsk, Zhukovski, Naberezhnye Chelny, Orel, Tyumen, Ufa, Khabarovsk, Dushanbe participated in the conference. Among the participants there were 4 academicians, 4 corresponding members of RAS, 31 professors. The review and original lectures of invited speakers were listened on the conference.
