IN MEMORY OF B.V.BULGAKOB The Conference on Oscillation Theory and Control (Moscow, Russia, November 29, 2000) E.V.
Karshackov, P.A. Kruchinin Moscow State University, Russia e-mail: karshack@mech.math.msu.ru e-mail: kruch@mech.math.msu.ru The Conference on Oscillation Theory and Control was organized by the
Moscow State University and by the Institute for the Mechanics Problems of
Russian Academy of Science and took place in the Moscow State University on
November 29, 2000. It was dedicated to Boris Vladimirovich Bulgakov
(1900-1952), whose hundreds anniversary was commemorated in 2000. One
of the founders of the Applied Mechanics and Control Department of the
Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of the Moscow State University, the
Correspondent Member of the USSR Academy of Science, Boris Vladimirovich
Bulgakov had a short life - 52 years only. But these years were full of the
intense and productive work. In this short period he made a significant
contribution to the mechanics problems. He developed and systematized such wide
parts of Mechanics as the gyroscopes theory and the oscillations theory. B.V.
Bulgakov received the recognition due to many articles and monographs that
contained the results of his work on these topics. His research in other
spheres is also very important. B.V. Bulgakov laid the basis of the navigation
systems theory and formulated the problems of the new theory of optimal control
in his reports and articles. It was classified work in past time. These pioneer
publications were developed in the research of his numerous disciples. Three
generations of scientists of different Scientific Schools, that were founded by
B.V.Bulgakov and by his disciples in M.V.Lomonosov MSU, the Institute for
Problems of Mechanics, N.E. Bauman MSTU and MEI, participated at Conference. The
prominent specialists of Mechanics, Academicians of Russian Academy of Science
A.U. Ishlinskiy and D.M. Klimov were Co-Chairmen of the Conference
Scientific-Organizing Committee. The
Patriarch of the Science of our country, disciple and Associate of B.V.
Bulgakov, the Head of the Applied Mechanics and Control Department of MSU, A.U.
Ishlinskiy opened the Conference. 58
reports were presented including 5 plenary reports and 25 reports in the
following sections: oscillation theory and its applications, solid and
gyroscope dynamics, motion control theory, navigation and estimation. A
wide range of problems was discussed on the sessions. The following directions
of the scientific research were under the most detailed consideration: -
The history of Science: B.V.Bulgakov and his
School influence on the different parts of the controlled motion mechanics. -
The modern problems of the gyroscopes theory
and practice with respect to the great interest of the instrument making
industry to the new kinds of the gyroscopic devices. -
Development of B.V.Bulgakov's ideas about the
normal coordinates and the asymptotic methods application to the complex
mechanical systems motion separation. -
Generalization of B.V. Bulgakov's problem on
the maximal deviation for the different classes of the dynamical systems and
disturbances, different kinds of the criteria functional, and associated
problems of the modern optimal control theory. -
The modern problems of the inertial navigation
and most of all the problem of coupling and deep integrating INS with another
sources of the navigation information, with the Satellite Navigation System. -
Mathematical modeling of the complex mechanical
controlled systems. |
