Kazan and International Center of Science and Education "GeoNa"

It is discussed Scientific-Educational Federal Project with idea about creating in Russia the International Center of the Science and the Internet of Technologies "GeoNa" (Geometry of Nature - "GeoNa" is developed wisdom, enthusiasm, pride, grandeur). This Center is including original designs building "GeoNa" ("Lobachevsky's surface"), 59 floors, height 215 m (with a spike 302 m), the general area in 148,000 sq. metres, a modern complex of conference halls (up to 4 thousand seats), center of Internet of Technologies, Computer center, 3D Planetarium, training complex "Physics-Land", active museum of natural sciences, cognitive system "Spheres of Knowledge", oceanarium with a fresh-water segment (5 million liters), botanical and landscape oases, business-hotel, where will be hosted conferences, the congresses, fundamental scientific researches, educational activities at a world organizational level. It will be ensuring the further successful development of scientific-educational and innovative-technological activity of the Russian Federation, the Republic Tatarstan, Kazan

Tatarstan is one of the leaders of educational and scientific centers of Russia: nearly 160 thousand students are educated in 24 state organizations of high education and 27 filials. Besides, 11 commercial organizations of high education and 19 filials act in Tatarstan. Generally nearly 266 thousand students study in Tatarstan. Process of studying of scientific workers (3,5 thousand aspirants and nearly 100 doctorants) is made in 38 organizations. Tatarstan is on first place in this measure in Privolgsky federal region. There are different scientific and educational Centers, organizations of high education, scientific institutes, department of Russian Academy of sciences and Academy of sciences of Republic of Tatarstan in Kazan. There are also Kazan State University of V.I.Ulianov-Lenin name (KSU), Kazan State Technical University of A.N.Tupolev name (KSTU-KAI), Kazan State Technological University of S.M.Kirov name (KSTU-KChTI), Kazan Scientific Center of Russian Academy of Sciences.

In KSU scientific-researching work is done on 100 departments, 16 faculties, in 2 institutes, 27 budget scientific-researching laboratories, 7 scientific-researching sectors, 2 groups and 11 scientific organizations on base of KSU. In 2005 year KSU takes part in 6 exhibitions (in them 3 - international), 79 exponats were shown. In 2005 on base of KSU 46 conferences were held, between them 17 were international.

Scientific-researching part (SRP) is the main department of Kazan state technical university named in honor of A.N. Tupolev (KSTU-KAI) and works on 42 directions. There are in scientific departments of SRP: 3 scientific-researching institutes, 11 scientific-researching, scientific-technical and scientific-production centers, more than 50 scientific-researching laboratories, where researching, works and innovation projects on creating scientific production and technologies for different needs and directions of industry are made.

In 2005 in KSTU-KAI 13 conferences with taking part of 2680 people were held, from it 8 conferences were international. It can be remarked the every year International conference "Tupolev readings", which includes all scientific directions of university. In 2006 year 18 conferences with taking part of 3000 scientists will be held, International conference and exhibition "Airspace technologies and equipment" with 300 participants were held already.

Kazan state technological university named in honor of S.M.Kirov (KSTU-KChTI) - innovation university, which includes structural parts for organization of whole and ending cycle "Fundamental science - Researching work - Construction work - Organization of production". Scientific-pedagogical potential of KSTU-KChTI is 200 doctors of sciences, 800 candidates of sciences, 10 scientific schools, 36 scientific directions. It is 57 scientific-technical works as a result of scientific activity.

In Tatarstan scientific-production work is made by variety of scientific-researching and project-constructional organizations, 7 scientific-researching institutes and constructional organizations, different techno-parks, technological squares, busyness-incubators and other organizations - more than 70 subjects of science full busyness.

So, because of possession of high science-educational potential Kazan can realize effective function of international center of science, education and internet technologies "GeoNa".

In activity of center "GeoNa" is planned: the organization of scientific - economic forums, scientific thematic schools, lectures for schoolboys, students and post-graduate students, cycles of popular scientific public lectures for inhabitants of Kazan, Republic Tatarstan, numerous visitors of Kazan, presentation of the international scientific and innovative programs, modern scientific databases, exhibition of Hi-tech equipment, training and educational programs, technologies of remote education.

Center "GeoNa" will enable scientists and teachers of the Russian universities to join to advanced achievements of a science, information technologies; to establish scientific communications with foreign colleagues in sphere of the high technology and educational projects with world scientific centers.

Congress center "GeoNa": Complex of buildings (the right coast Kazanka river, opposite of Kazan Kremlin) includes an original design building "GeoNa" with a complex of the specially equipped conference halls: 4000 seats - 1 hall, 1000 seats - 1 hall, 500 seats - 1 hall, 250 seats - 2 halls, 120 seats - 4 halls, 60 seats - 6 audiences, 30 seats - 10 audiences, 3 poster presentation halls (1000 sq. meters), reception, Internet - center.

Computer center "GeoNa" and Center the Internet of Technologies: It is known, that each eight months the volume of the information in the advanced specialized databases received in scientific and technical areas is doubled. Modern GRID-system include separate computers, clasters, local networks, supercomputers, data bases, the communications, software packages: 40-Gb liaison channels, processor capacity 200 Teraflops (2 10¹⁴ operations in a second), volume ofљ disk - memory hundreds of PetaB (10¹⁷ bytes), inclusion in global computer infrastructure GRID - EGEE (Europe). The "fast" Internet, Modern GRID system (40Gb liaison channel), fast data acquisition with the help modern the Internet of technologies, their processing, classification, three-dimensional visual representation.

PhysicsLand: Cognitively - trainingљ complex for children, schoolboys, students, adult, based on modern achievements of science and technology and their three-dimensional visual and sensual perception. The complex will contain more than 100 simulators and 200 demonstration automated platforms: Flight on the Moon and Mars, Formula - I, Falling in Black hole, Birth of the Universe, Rings of Newton, Machine of time. The complex can simultaneously accept up to 500 children with parents and school teachers.

Active Museum of Natural Sciences: Three-dimensional material and visual giants of an extreme antiquity full-scale realize the classical concept of a museum of antiquities on a modern scientific and technical basis, but with a real opportunity touch to great opening of the History of Natural Sciences and to construct by hands a History of the ancient Earth.

Human, Technologies, Machines: The museum gives the general representation about techniques, technologies and inventions as about practical application of a science for satisfaction of daily needs of the people. On expositions of a museum it will be submitted more than 5000 exhibits: working models and stands of modern technologies, multifunctional robots, 3D visualization of the most complicated dynamic processes in the nature, a science, technique, the industries, in a society.

Architectural project "GeoNa": The multi-functional scientific and educational complex "GeoNa" is set to become one of the most prestigious and impressive buildings in Kazan and one of the highest buildings of Russia. The total area of buildings: 245,000 sq. meters. The area of territory of the Center: 20 hectares. Due to the newest systems of a telecommunications "GeoNa" will be not only a harmonious architectural ensemble of the Kazan city, but also will enter the uniform integrated information space of Russia. It will differ application of modern achievements methods and concepts of management, engineering technologies, use of high-quality materials. Time table: The first part of the complex "GeoNa" will be open at August 30, 2010 yr.

Kazan city is perspective from the point of view of scientific-educational tourism, because of its possession of many objects, which can be interesting and attract tourists. From information of administration of Kazan our city is visited by 600 thousand tourists every year. It is necessary to situate International scientific center "GeoNa" as near as possible to historical, cultural and economical center of city of Kazan, definitely such situation will influence on financial-economical activity of this scientific center positively. Location of this object is influenced by group of factors, which includes scientific-pedagogical potential of Kazan and Povolgie, social (level of education of people), economical (level of money paying to people, level of development of transport communication), cultural factors (historical monuments, museums, cultural organizations). Center of city of Kazan includes developed transport infrastructure, because of this, objects, which are situated in center, are easy to achieve, there are monuments of history, mainly the Kremlin of Kazan, cultural organizations (Opera and ballet theatre named in honor of M.Jalil, Dramatic theatre named in honor of V. Kachalov, National museum of Republic of Tatarstan), organizations of high education (KSU, KSTU-KAI, KSTU-KChTI, KSFEI). Because of that scientific center "GeoNa" is near with all these objects it permits to make scientific-cultural system of close connecting with each other elements. Important factor in connection of these objects is easy achieving of objects of system, close contacts between them. Positive place, where scientific center can be situated, is right bank of the river Kazanka opposite the Kremlin, between Leninsky bridge and Millennium bridge. Such location of scientific center permits to go in it to people, which live in any part of Kazan city, and guests, participants of conferences, who comes in railway station, auto transport station, river port, airport from other cities, regions of our country, foreign countries. Work of scientific complex "GeoNa" gives impulse to development of Science, Education and Scientific Tourism in Kazan and Republic of Tatarstan and helps to innovating process and investing foreign money in economic of city and republic.

Forum "GeoNa": Within the framework of project "GeoNa" organization of the International scientific - economic forum of potential investors and sponsors of the project (June 27 - 29, 2007, Kazan state university, Russia, 200 participants) is planned. Objectives of the forum will be formation of the international scientific organizing committee of center "GeoNa", the statement of the Charter of the center, election of agencies, formation of the managing company.
