This issue of the International scientific Journal "Actual Problems of Aviation and Aerospace Systems: processes, models, experiment" (No.1 (30), v.15, 2010) proceeds with Anniversary topics generated by the beginning of the Space Era on the Earth and its subsequent progress. Current problems in aviation and aerospace are covered including:

-          Earth and Space (both near and deep) monitoring and relevant International Programs;

-          physical and mathematical models and approaches for the problems of monitoring and forecast of natural cataclysms and anthropogenic disasters;

-          reviews on the state and prospects of space activities in the World and at the Fatherland of the first artificial Earth satellite and the first cosmonaut of Earth, including the review of trends and prospects of manned spacecrafts launches, the outlook for the future of intelligent control of satellite monitoring systems (exemplified by the National Rocket-and-Space Center "TsSKB-Progress");

-          review of the problems and developments in advanced technological processes based on nanotechnologies in the fields of thermo physics and power engineering and in application to the prospects of space-and-rocket hardware and other power-intensive areas.

The published papers deal with a key topic discussed at the International scientific forums: International Workshop IFAC (Samara, July 2009), International Symposium IAA-TsRAA (Limassol, October 2009), at the special Session of the International scientific Workshop IFNA-ANS, AAAS-TsRAA (Kazan, November 2009).
