The National Scientific Conference “The Heat Engines in XXI Century: Fundamental Problems in Theory and Technology” have been held in Kazan State Technical University of A.N.Tupolev’s name under the sponsoring of Russian Foundation of Fundamental Investigations, Russian Ministry of Education and different Russian Enterprises.

In the course of the Conference the problems of heat engines’ creation, development and perfection have been discussed.

The energy consumption for humane needs grows rapidly. This tendency will keep safety for the further period. That is why the most important tasks are searching for new sources of energy and for new methods of energy transformation and transportation.

The heat engine is the most wide spread for transformation of heat into mechanical energy. At the other side, it represents different processes like gas dynamic, thermodynamic, heat and mass transfer and etc. Therefore it is very interesting for scientists and practitioners. The quantity of natural sources for heat engines is limited even in such a big country like Russia. At the same time huge distances and inclement climate of Russia require increasing energy consumption, so the task of creating the economical and ecologically clean engines is of great importance to Russia.

The presentations of the Plenary Meeting were done by:

V. Ye. Alemasov, Academician of Russian Academy of Science, Director of the Power Engineering Division of Kazan Scientific Center of Russian Academy of Science. His report was devoted to 275-th Anniversary of Russian Academy of Science;

N. T. Kireyev, Councilor of Prime Minister of Tatarstan in machine-building, defense industry and conversion. The theme of his report was “Tupolev-324 - the Airplane of XXI Century”;

The General Directors of well known Russian enterprises of machine-building and defense industry. They illuminated the progress in heat engines’ production, energy transformation and effective energy use.

There were eight Sessions in the framework of the Conference:

  • The Processes of Energy Transformation and Transportation;
  • Mathematical Modeling of High Temperature Processes;
  • Aircraft Engines: Issues of the Development and Conversion;
  • Rocket Propulsion Systems;
  • New Technologies in Turbo-machinery Building;
  • The Advanced Technologies in Heat Engines’ Production;
  • The Ecology Problems in Heat Engines;
  • Theoretical Problems of High Effective Materials and Resource Preserving Technologies.

The Conference approved the actuality of above mentioned researches and high level of results that had been achieved in Russia. The Proceedings of the Conference contain the most interesting reports.
