PRODUCTION OF V-BELTS FOR AUTOMOBILES, INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT AND OIL FIELDS

Suggested is large-scale production of V-belts (annual output of 1.6 mln pcs) used in cars and trucks, tractors, agricultural machinery, industrial installations, and oilfield equipment with the aim to meet the demand in the Republic of Tatarstan for this industrial rubber item.

Available are production areas, energy supply, infrastructure and access road lines.

Set of equipment is needed for belts production, that makes it possible to carry out fast production changeover to this or another product within wide range of types and sizes.

To implement this project investments are needed in the amount of USD 1 mln in the form of credit.

Investments recoupment period is 3.3 years.

C2 PO TATSELKHOZTEKHNIKA PRODUCTION OF V-BELTS

Project objective is to arrange annual production of 1 mln V-belts using semi-finished products without deep preparing of raw materials.

Project implementation makes it possible, within one year, to master production of V-belts and satisfy demand in this product being of urgent need for industry of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Available is draft contract with Optibelt of Germany for purchase of necessary equipment.

Amount of investments needed - USD 8.6 mln. Forms of investment - joint venture, co-operative production.

C3 Kazan Motorbuilding Production Association (KMPO)
PRODUCTION OF AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS

The project is aimed at production of international level automatic hydromechanical transmissions for transport vehicles (for limited-stop and city buses). The license for transmission production is acquired from VOITH of Germany. The price of transmissions shall be lower by 30-40% than that of similar transmissions manufactured by other companies.

With the purpose to find comprehensive solution to the problem of expanding production of buses, it is planned to supply unified power unit consisting of engine (produced by KAMAZ) and transmission (produced by KMPO).

Industrial potential and qualified staff available with KMPO make it possible to master production of transmissions within short period and with minimum expenses.

The enterprise requests USD 7 mln for mastering production of automatic hydromechanical transmissions under VOITH license.

Project recoupment period - 6 years.

C4 AO TURBOCOMPRESSOR
DEVELOPMENT AND PRODUCTION OF STRAIGHT TEETH ROTOR COMPRESSORS OF GENERAL INDUSTRIAL APPLICATION

This project is aimed at expansion of product line for rotor compressors supplying fresh air to the consumer (for aerosol transport of dry products, in construction and machine building).

Straight teeth rotor compressor design ensures dry (free from oil contamination) air compression directly driven from engine. Multiplicator and external lubrication system are not necessary, thus resulting in compact and reliable design. Production of such compressors is protected by patents in CIS countries, Great Britain, USA, Sweden, and Japan.

Needed are investments in the amount of USD 3 mln for acquisition of production line for casings, rotors, and compressor frames.

Recoupment period is 3 years.

C5 AO TURBOCOMPRESSOR
PRODUCTION OF MULTI-PURPOSE HELICAL COMPRESSOR

Project objective is to master production of helical compressor (with annual volume of 25,000 units), whose working parts are made in the form of helixes (spirals). Based on this unit refrigerating compressors can be made with refrigerating capacity of 1.5-10 kW, as well as air compressors for heavy air production in garages and agriculture mechanisation systems, for dentist equipment.

Available are necessary production areas, buildings, qualified staff.

To purchase technology and equipment for production of precise helices investments are needed in the amount of USD 4 mln. Recoupment period is 3 years.

C6 Almetyevsk Pipe Works
PRODUCTION OF STRAIGHT-SEAM OIL AND GAS PIPES

Planned is production of straight-seam oil-and-gas pipes with factory-made double-sided anti corrosion coating and expansion of product line for pipes manufactured. Products are used for construction of oil-and-gas mains, oil product pipelines, feeder and field pipelines.

Demand in pipe products exceeds capacities to be put into operation by 5 times. Agreed is supply of pipes for AO TATNEFT for the amount of USD 20 mln per year.

Production is established using existing workshops without expanding production areas. Reequipment plan is approved by the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Overall project cost is USD 14 mln, of which USD 9 mln was utilised as of 1.10.95.

To complete reconstruction USD 5 mln is needed.

Project completion period is 1 year, estimated profitability is 15%.

C7 SOYUZ, Kazan Experimental Design Bureau
PRODUCTION OF GEOLOGICAL ELECTROPROSPECTING COMPLEX

Conversion programme of SOYUZ suggests changeover of production and development of new trends of enterprise activity. Objective of this project is creation of geological electroprospecting complex on turbogenerator base for exploring natural resources in large territories and big depths of up to 10m.

The complex is developed using up-to-date achievements in power engineering, machine-building and electronics, prototype schematic diagram is elaborated.

Demand in such complex is due to the need of finding new mineral deposits and deep seated formations.

To fulfil conversion programme additional resources are needed in the amount of USD 400,000 for production preparing and mastering, equipment purchase, etc.

Recoupment period - 3 years. Form of co-operation - joint venture, market access for conducting geophysical exploration by geological complex and providing the customer with prospecting data under the contract.

C8 DEVELOPMENT AND PRODUCTION OF GAS REFUELLER

Objective of the project is development and production of movable gas refueller (MGR) on the base of truck tractor KAMAZ-5418 and semitrailer for gas transportation in the volume of 19.2 cu.m. and fueling motor transport.

MGR curb weight (when filled with gas) is 25 mt (without tractor). Application of MGR will make it possible to significantly expand areas for using gas-operated motor vehicles and tractor fleet. To manufacture MGR enterprise's own patents and author's certificates are used.

To implement the project investments are needed in the amount of USD 2.5 mln for arrangement of large-scale production (assembly lines retooling, construction of warehouses, control units testing shops, installation of additional furnaces, acquisition of KAMAZ tractors).

Recoupment period is 3 years.

C9 PRODUCTION OF ANTIHAIL ROCKET AND LAUNCHER

Objective of the project is finalising development work and starting large-scale production of "Alan" antihail rockets of new generation and "Eliya" launchers for these rockets.

Antihail rocket is designed for delivery of active nuclei and spreading them in the hail-hazardous cloud. Active nuclei preventing hail formation are located in fuel charge. The rocket cannot be used for military purposes due to absence of explosives and minimum number of metal parts.

Available are contracts for supply of launchers and rockets to China, Tunisia, Argentina and other countries, where this SOUYZ development is planned to be patented. Also available is the license for rendering hail protection services abroad.

Amount of investments needed - USD 8 mln.

Project recoupment period, including the time for capital investments utilisation, is 2 years. Form of investment - participation in joint stock capital. Maximum share in joint stock capital granted to foreign investor is 49%.

C10 AO ALNAS
EXTERNAL SALE OF ELECTRIC SUBMERSIBLE PUMPS MANUFACTURED AT AO ALNAS

AO ALNAS produces submersible pumps for water lifting from artesian wells and oil extraction. The latter are successfully exported to Europe, the USA, North America, Africa, Middle East countries.

The price of water pumps is lower than that of other competitive pumps by 25%.

Needed is marketing studies and assistance in product sales outside Russia.

Form of co-operation sought - joint venture, bartering, co-operative deals.

C11 Kazan Optico-Mechanical Plant
PRODUCTION OF HOUSEHOLD METERS FOR COLD AND HOT WATER AND CHECKING UNITS

Suggested is establishment of production for manufacturing measuring devices for cold and hot water with programmed annual output of 1 mln units and creation of metrological base on the basis of stationary and portable checking units (6 units/year).

Necessity in such products is due to gradual transition of all municipal economies of the Republic of Tatarstan to paid services related to actual water consumption. Total demand in Russia is estimated in 10-15 mln pcs.

Volume of investments required for acquisition of processing equipment and checking units is USD 800,000.

C12 Tatarstan Production Association SVIYAGA
IMPLEMENTATION OF TPA SVIYAGA CONVERSION PROGRAMME

Due to currently pursued policy of cutting military production the unique - as regards tooling and industrial equipping - production potential of the enterprise was put to the verge of liquidation.

In current economic situation the enterprise has developed projects for efficient utilisation of available potential for creation of production with high consuming properties:

- electronic units for gas ovens starting-up with connecting and control sets;

- blade instruments (scalpels) and commodities (knives);

- heating pumps for heating of private housing;

Necessary are investments in the approximate amount of USD 1.6 mln for reconstruction, retooling, purchase of new equipment, development works and technical production planning.

Recoupment period - 3 years. Form of investment - credit, joint venture.

C13 PRODUCTION OF HOUSEHOLD INDUCTION KITCHEN OVENS

Project envisages production of household induction kitchen ovens with annual output of 500,000 pcs. Induction ovens reduce energy consumption by 2 times as compared with conventional electric ovens and do not contaminate the environment.

Available are production areas with energy supply, infrastructure, qualified personnel, stable sales system. The enterprise has Western partner to sale 25-30% of ready products.

Investments in the amount of USD 24 mln are required for reconstruction and acquisition of equipment (assembly lines, testing and stamping equipment, pressing machines). Recoupment period - 5 years. Form of investment - compensation agreement, credit.

C14 NUR Centre for New Technologies
PRODUCTION OF PRISMATIC AND SPHERICAL MIRRORS FOR CARS

Objective of the project is to arrange production of prismatic (300,000 pcs/year) and spherical (300,000 pcs/year) mirrors for cars under European standards.

NUR has contracts for delivery of mirrors, including those with foreign partners. Sales of the products are guaranteed (the enterprise has received requests from KAMAZ, ELAZ, AvtoVAZ).

Available are production areas with energy supply, infrastructure, personnel.

Volume of investments needed for equipment acquisition - USD 9 mln. Recoupment period - 6 years. Form of investment - joint venture, compensation agreement.

C15 PRODUCTION OF POLYMER FUEL TANKS
AND OTHER LARGE PLASTIC CAR PARTS

Objective of the project is to create specialised enterprise for manufacturing large plastic car parts and units (fuel tanks for KAMAZ, UAZ under Krupp-Kautex technology, fairings, air intakes), increasing cars competitiveness and operational characteristics.

To implement the project up-to date equipment is needed (automated thermoplastic machine, blowing machines, elevators, etc.) as well as transport equipment and technology for plastic car parts production.

Amount of investments needed - USD 16,491,500. Form of investment - joint venture.

C16 Private Enterprise SITALL
ASSEMBLING OF TELEVISION SETS UNDER SCREWDRIVER TECHNOLOGY

Suggested is arrangement of 20" and 21" TV-sets assembling under screwdriver technology from units and completing parts supplied by European, Japanese and Singapore countries with annual output of 3000 pcs.

Volume of investments required - USD 2 mln.

Form of co-operation sought - co-operative production, purchase of completing parts, short-term credit.

C17 PO "Plant n.a. Sergo" (POZIS)
PRODUCTION OF REFRIGERATORS AND FREEZERS

Using industrial and personnel potential that becomes available owing to conversion, it is planned to arrange production of new models of household refrigerators (145, 170, 280 cu.dm) and freezers (135 and 2440 cu. dm) with improved consumer characteristics and without ozone-destructive cooling agents.

To implement the project financing is needed for the total amount of USD 19,500,000 to be allocated for reconstruction of refrigerator production without stopping the production cycle.

Amount of investment is taken from offers of Candy and Zanussi (Italy) and envisages the expenditures for environment protection. It is suggested that the enterprise shall return the medium-term loan to the investor by means of annual transfers in foreign currency.

C18 PO "Plant n.a. Sergo" (POZIS)
PRODUCTION OF ONE-DOOR COMMERCIAL REFRIGERATED CABINETS

Production of one-door commercial refrigerated cabinet (250 cu.dm) with glass door (temperature modes - 0讈 to 10讈) is suggested on the basis of existing basic model. Scheduled annual output is 20,000 pcs.

Growing demand for commercial refrigerated cabinets is observed combined with lack of such production in the country. Market supply is insignificant, the demand is satisfied only by imports.

Volume of investments needed - USD 3,216,400. Form of investment - joint venture, compensation agreement, medium- and short-term loans.

C19 PRODUCTION OF HOUSEHOLD AIR CONDITIONERS

Market study shows that stable demand for household air conditioners exists in Russia and other CIS countries in the amount of min. 1 mln units per year combined with lack of domestic manufactures for this production. It is planned to produce at the first stage 50,000 household air conditioners with cooling volume of 300 cu.m.

To implement the project joint venture creation is suggested. Volume of foreign investments needed - USD 17,445,000.

C20 PRODUCTION OF MICROWAVE OVENS

Objective of the project is to arrange production of high-quality microwave ovens with chamber volume of 27 litres (25,000 pcs/year).

Market study shows that large choice of microwave ovens - especially of foreign origin - currently exists in Russia and other CIS countries, thus providing the customer with certain stereotypes as regards design and quality requirements. This fact promotes the enterprise to improve oven quality and design.

Volume of investments needed - USD 1,253,200. Form of investment - joint venture, compensation agreement, medium- and short-term loans.

C21 PRODUCTION OF FLEXIBLE METAL PROFILING LINES

Suggested is production of improved flexible metal profiling lines with capacity of 30 parts/min. Production output - 5 lines/year.

Fast readjustable lines are used for production of various metal profiles applied in construction, automotive industry, furniture and household appliances production. There exists great demand at domestic and foreign markets both in the lines themselves and in their final product.

Volume of investments needed - USD 3,317,900. Form of investment - joint venture, compensation agreement, medium- and short-term loans.

C22 PRODUCTION OF CUT-OFF FITTINGS

Objective of the project is production of cut-off fittings (brass valves �-15, �-20). Manufacturing of new modifications is scheduled with account for foreign market demand.

Volume of investments needed - USD 500,000. Form of investment - joint venture, compensation agreement, medium- and short-term loans.

C23 PRODUCTION OF GAS HEATERS

Suggested is production of gas heaters (420H X 700W X 485 D), which are practically not produced in Russia. Production volume -30,000 pcs/year.

Loans in the amount of USD 1,923,000 are needed as current assets. Form of investment - credit, co-operative production.

C24 CREATION OF CENTRE FOR ARTISTIC DESIGNING

Objective of the project is to develop design projects for new models of household appliances (refrigerators, freezers, UHF ovens, household heaters, air conditioners, etc.) for plant-manufacturer and interested enterprises at the industrial prototype level with further patenting in Russia, CIS countries and abroad.

Implementation of the project would make it possible to solve the problem of deficit in designer services for Tatarstan enterprises and provide offers for Russian market.

Volume of capital investments needed - USD 300,000. Credit repayment is suggested in three years.

PRODUCTION OF TU-324 AIRCRAFT

TU-324 aircraft can be supplied to the customer both in managerial and regional versions. Managerial version is possible with higher class (for 4 passengers) or middle class (for 8-10 passengers) configuration. Flight range is 7900 km. The aircraft can easily be modified into regional version with 50 passengers and flight range of 2500 km. The aircraft can also come in optional versions: light transport, sanitary, patrol, etc.

TU-324 is designed with account for long-standing experience of creating highly efficient passenger aircraft; safety level meets Russian and international airworthiness standards; newest technologies are used in aerodynamics and electronics; it has good takeoff and landing characteristics due to efficient mechanisation.

Investments are needed in the amount of USD 340 mln for creation of the basic TU-324 aircraft, its certification and arrangement of its full-scale production, including:

- USD 130 mln for development works, manufacturing of 5 aircraft and their certification;

- USD 50 mln for engine development work, production planning;

- USD 24 mln for purchase of the pilot batch of engines;

- USD 100 mln for planning full-scale production.

Profit on aircraft sales starts from 4th year of full-scale production with average output of 20 aircraft per year.

PRODUCTION OF DELTA-AIRCRAFT

The project envisages development and production of super-light aircraft modifications with balanced control (two-seat delta-aircraft with wheels, landing skids and floats), as well as certification of the products and creation of the pilot training and maintenance centre for delta-aircraft.

Available are qualified personnel, production premises, testing areas, domestic market sales.

Volume of investments needed for acquisition of processing and testing equipment is USD 270,000. Form of co-operation sought - joint venture, co-operative production.

C27 PRODUCTION OF CARGO-PASSENGER RAM
WING SURFACE EFFECT (RWSE) VEHICLE

Project objective is development and production of cargo-passenger RWSE vehicle (modifications: RWSE taxi, cargo RWSE vehicle, patrol RWSE vehicle, rescue RWSE vehicle), as well as certification of the products and creation of the pilot training and maintenance centre.

Fuel consumption is less than that of an aircraft by 30%.

Available are production premises, raw materials, testing stands.

CREATION AND PRODUCTION OF COMPUTERIZED PROCESS CONTROL COMPLEX

Computerized microprocessor-based control systems (CMCSs) are designed for creation of diversified and highly reliable process control systems. High reliability is attained owing to self-diagnosis and by various techniques of modular redundancy. CMCS has flexible programming system. Control desks are equipped with built-in display.

CMCSs can be used in metallurgy, petrochemical industry, oil processing, machine-building, and fuel and energy complex.
